Definition of an Organization

Definition of an Organization 1:
An organizationis an entity,where two or more people work together to achieve a goal or a common objective.
Definition of an Organization 2:
An organization is a stable, formal structure that takes resources from the environment and process them to produce outputs.
Definition of an Organization 3:
Organizations are formal legal entities with internal rules and procedures that must abide by laws.
Definition of an Organization 4:
Is a social arrangement which persues collective goals which controls own performance and which boudary separating it from its environment.

My view of an Organization:"An organization is a boudary of system where two or more people work together to achive a common goal or an common objective. The organizational system have common legal entities with internal rules and procedures that must abide by laws,also an organization have a structure that takes resources from the environment and process them to produce outputs"

Community of Practice (CoP)

Knowledge is often thought to be the property of individuals, a great deal of knowledge is both produced and held collectively. Such knowledge is readily generated when people work together in the tightly knit groups known as “communities of practice.”

    I nearly asked this question:
    'Is there something called organizational system?'
    in last week's class (i.e. on 22nd Jan 2009).
    You have alluded to it in the paragraph of your view of an organization. What is your take on this? I feel that there is no such a term as an organization and system have a similar definition, only that the organization encompasses much more.
